VINEYARDS
The 22ha vineyard consists of 4 varieties being Carignan, Syrah, Maccabeu and Grenache and is situated 5 km up the valley from St Paul de Fenouillet. On three sides the vineyard is bordered by streams and natural vegetation.

The soils consist mainly of decomposed slate with a high clay content and good water holding capacity. Adding to this, the annual rainfall is more than 700mm, so irrigation is not necessary. During the growing season the days are warm with cool nights. The prevailing winds also decrease the necessity to spray. The vineyards are well established being on average over 35 years old and have no problem to ripen the grapes to full ripeness.
